Photos of Summer Streets
Summer Streets is an open street initiative led by the NYC Department of Transportation, which opens New York City streets for public use on consecutive Saturdays in August since 2007. Modeled on Ciclovía, the program has temporarily closed Park Avenue and connecting streets from Central Park to the Brooklyn Bridge to motor vehicles and opened them up to people for walking, bicycling, running, skating and other activities.
